NovaStar software downloads: choose the right tool
The newest version is not automatically the right version for every installation. Check the release notes, supported hardware and your computer’s operating system first. Keep a copy of the working screen configuration before changing software or firmware.

NovaLCT 5.9.2 download for Windows
NovaLCT is NovaStar’s LED configuration tool. Depending on the connected hardware, it supports receiving-card setup, screen connection mapping, brightness adjustment and maintenance. The current NovaLCT package listed in NovaStar’s global download catalogue is V5.9.2, with Driver 1.0.0.2. Separate manuals cover synchronous control systems and multimedia players.
NovaLCT’s Windows installer is supplied inside a ZIP archive. Extract the archive before running the installer. NovaLCT is not the Mac download in this library: COEX VMP has separate Windows and Mac packages, and older SmartLCT Mac packages appear in the compatibility archive.
ViPlex Express 4.1.1.0201 and the Windows 7 branch
ViPlex Express manages content and playback for compatible NovaStar multimedia players. NovaStar lists V4.1.1.0201 for Windows 10 x64 and TB firmware V4.7.4 or above. The separate V3.0.5.1501 Windows 7 x64 package is a compatibility branch. Use its matching Async or Studio Mode manual rather than assuming that every mode works with every player.

VMP 1.5.1 for COEX controllers
VMP, or Vision Management Platform, configures and manages supported COEX systems. NovaStar lists VMP V1.5.1 for Windows and Mac alongside COEX controller firmware V1.5.1. Select the firmware for your controller model: MX20, MX30, MX40 Pro, CX40 Pro, KU20 and MX6000 Pro/MX2000 Pro have model-specific packages. Features such as layers, color processing and monitoring depend on the controller, receiving cards and firmware.
Other NovaStar software and calibration tools
VICP is a Visual Intelligent Control Platform for supported integrated control systems. Kompass FX3 Pro handles multimedia playback, while Unico is a control platform for compatible devices. Their manuals define the supported functions and system requirements. NovaCLB calibration tools require suitable calibration hardware and, where specified, authorization equipment; downloading software alone does not provide a complete calibration system.

Receiving cards — match the exact hardware revision
TB40, TB50 and TB60 software and firmware
For a compatible TB40, TB50 or TB60 installation, use ViPlex Express to manage content and the model’s documentation to check setup and firmware requirements. NovaStar lists firmware V5.1.0.1301 under its TB30, TB40, TB50 and TB60 catalogue entries. The shared package filename also names T30/T40/T50/T60 and AD20 devices. Read the release notes and verify the exact device revision before applying this shared package. A firmware version number does not describe the ViPlex Express software version.
DH7512-S and DH7508 firmware requests
A current public firmware package for DH7512-S or DH7508 was not verified in the global NovaStar catalogue during this update. Do not substitute an MRV or Armor firmware file, or treat DH7508 and DH7508-S as interchangeable. Older NovaLCT, SmartLCT and V-CAN downloads
These archive packages support existing installations that need a specific older version. They are labelled as older downloads and are not presented as the current release. If you searched for NovaLCT V5.3.0, V5.3.1 or V5.4.4.6, choose that exact file below. Use V5.9.2 for a new installation only after checking compatibility.

How to install NovaStar software and update firmware
- Identify the system. Record the controller/player model, receiving-card model and hardware revision, current firmware and computer operating system.
- Back up the working configuration. Export the appropriate screen connection, receiving-card or project settings using the tool and procedure described in the device manual. Keep the cabinet supplier’s original configuration file.
- Select a compatible download. Compare the software and firmware release notes with your hardware. Extract ZIP installers locally; keep firmware files in the format required by the upgrade tool.
- Install the software. Run the extracted installer and follow its prompts. Install the required driver when instructed. If security software flags the package, verify its origin and publisher before proceeding; do not disable protection as a routine installation step.
- Connect and confirm detection. Use the USB, network or other connection specified in the manual. Confirm the correct device is detected before changing parameters.
- Update firmware only when needed. Follow the exact model’s upgrade instructions, maintain stable power and connections, and allow the process to finish. Do not load a similarly named model’s firmware.
- Check the result. Confirm the firmware version, screen mapping, brightness, colors and playback. Restore compatible saved settings only as directed by the manual.

Can I use NovaLCT on a Mac?
The NovaLCT download provided here is for Windows. VMP has a separate Mac package for compatible COEX hardware. SmartLCT Mac packages in the archive are older software for their supported systems, not NovaLCT for Mac.
Are firmware and RCFG/RCFGX files the same?
No. Firmware updates the device’s operating code. RCFG/RCFGX files hold receiving-card parameters for a particular LED module or cabinet. Both must match the hardware, and a configuration file cannot replace a firmware package.
Why are manual and firmware version numbers different?
NovaStar can revise hardware specifications, user manuals and firmware independently. Use the exact versions shown beside each link and check the firmware release notes. A newer PDF revision does not mean a firmware package with the same number exists.
