What Is Inside an LED Display Module?
An LED display module combines a grid of LEDs with a printed circuit board (PCB), driver integrated circuits (ICs), connectors and supporting electronic components. Multiple modules connect inside an LED cabinet to create the finished screen image.

The LEDs create the visible pixels. Driver ICs control how those pixels switch and refresh, while the PCB distributes signals and power through the module. Connectors link the module to the receiving card and power supply; resistors and capacitors help regulate the circuit. When replacing a module, match the physical size, pixel pitch, scan mode, connector layout, voltage and control configuration – a similar-looking module is not automatically compatible.
